The Concept
Suite Vollard, the first building in the world with independently rotating residences, was born from an idea of creating a large but cozy and nature friendly living space for the 21st Century. The initial sketches included a round, spacious living area, totally open and unique, surrounded by glass. This idea led to the concept of a revolving living space controlled by the resident which maximizes the resident's enjoyment of nature's surrounding views.
When rotating, each residence rotates as a unit, including the area of the spinning platform, the exterior glass walls including the frames, and the ceiling above the spinning platform; the result is that visual perception of movement is provided for the occupants as well as those who observe the residence from the exterior.
Spin Buildings owns the rights to the international patents denominated "Rotating System for Buildings in General". "Suite Vollard" remains the only building in the world constructed with independently rotating floors. "Spin Buildings Technology" is the only proven rotating system technology for independently rotating each floor of a high rise building.
